At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design (TECH), our graduates are trained in IT, electronics, architecture/design, sustainability and planning.

At the faculty's four departments, we offer a wide range of current and relevant degree programmes in IT, engineering and design. Our teaching activities are grounded in Aalborg University's learning model, the Aalborg model for problem-based learning (PBL).

Four Departnments, an Admission Course and a Doctoral School

Department of Computer Science

The department conducts internationally recognized research and offers degree programmes in a range of computer science fields including embedded systems, data science, machine learning, web technologies and interactive computer systems.

Department of Electronic Systems

The department conducts internationally recognized research and offers degree programmes in digital technologies including communication, antennas, robotics, AI, sound, and cybersecurity.

Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology

The department's vision is to exploit and investigate the interaction between creativity and technology with the aim of developing new growth areas in research and education aimed at users or participants.

Department of Sustainability and Planning

The department's unique research and degree programmes have a broad focus on sustainability and green transition, and include areas such as circular economy and energy planning as well as sustainable transition and design. We deal with planning, technology and society with a view to creating a more sustainable future.

Admission course

AAU Admission Course offers fast, targeted single subject courses, turbo courses and a full entrance exam for all Engineering courses, Surveying and Planning courses and Mechanical courses in Denmark.

Doctoral School

TECH has its own doctoral school that develops and quality-assures the faculty's existing PhD programmes and is responsible for developing new PhD programmes.
